This weeks phrase: She had looked on so many unlovely places in her life, poor child; but this was as lovely as anything she had ever dreamed.” – Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery
Eliza stood in the door of the schoolhouse. Waiting. Waiting for the elders to determine her fate. The rules were very clear. And she had broken them.
She looked about. This was as lovely a place as any she had seen. Her fate, decided. Exile. The elders led her away.
This story was written for the 50 word Thursday challenge, this week

It does indeed look like a lovely place. Poor Eliza, being exiled!
Better than the alternative. Thanks, Mae.
Good point!
I’m sad for Eliza. But one never knows what the future will hold.
I believe it will be much better. Rules are meant to be broken as long as no one or nothing has been harmed.
Poor Eliza, but leaving is where adventure usually begins.
I agree, Craig. Her adventure is just beginning.
Oh, no! Poor Eliza. She must be scared silly.
Maybe now, but it will be better in for her in the long run.
Oh, how very sad.
Sorry, Roberta. Better than the alternative though.
