This weeks phrase: “If you dare nothing, then when the day is over, nothing is all you will have gained.” ― Neil Gaiman, The Graveyard Book

Lilly told Eddie, “We’re not doing this tonight. This place is haunted.”

“If you dare nothing, then nothing is all you will have gained. Besides, think of the money.”

“It’s not worth it.”

“If you don’t go, the bet is off.”

“Then it’s off.”

Lilly finally agreed to go in, but with the condition that if she wanted to leave, they would leave. Eddie agreed. She knew all he wanted was the money. It would be nice, but the stories about that cemetery at night terrified her.

His friends watched as they entered the cemetery at midnight.

“Remember, one hour. That’s all we need to get the money,” Eddie said.

The mausoleum gate was open. They walked down the stairs and went inside. Lilly shivered. Something flew out at them. She screamed. “We’re leaving.”

“It’s just a trick my friends played on us.”

“You promised. We’re leaving.” Before she could get out, something cold passed through her and went into Eddie, tossing him around.

Lilly screamed and ran. She made it to the gate, but Eddie wasn’t behind her. His friends taunted her, but she didn’t care. She stared into the cemetery.

Eddie didn’t come out. He never came out.
