This weeks phrase: “Let the wild rumpus start”
Maurice Sendak, Where the Wild Things Are
“Hey Aimee, what did you do for your animal art project?” Bill asked.
Aimee pulled out her sketch and showed him. “What do you think?” she asked.
Bill paused before he answered. “Maybe you should add some color. You know she likes bright colors.”
“This is it. I’m not changing it. I plan on using Ollie in my next video game project. Dr. Dillard absolutely loved it.”
Their teacher quieted the class, collected their assignment, and flipped through the pictures as the class worked on the next assignment.
Minutes later she called Aimee to her desk.
After class Bill questioned Aimee. “So, what did she want when she called you to her desk?”
“You’re not going to believe this, she loved my project and wants me to enter it into the Animee contest.”
“That’s awesome. Congrats. This calls for a celebration. I’m buying.”
“Let the wild rumpus start,” Aimee shouted.
This story was written for the 50 word Thursday challenge, this week hosted by Teresa , The Haunted Wordsmith.

I love Maurice Sendak. My son adored it when he was young. Even had a birthday cake with with characters and had all the stuffed animals.
Cute story.
Thanks, Staci. Cute isn’t my usual style, but this picture screamed cute to me.
Very awesome take on the prompts, Michele.
Thank you.
You’re welcome.
