This weeks phrase: “It was difficult, on the whole, to know how reliable they might be” – Postern of Fate by Agatha Christie.

At the ordained hour, they will rise
To try and prevent their demise
Once each century, time so short
Then present their findings to our court

The king to answer every question
Posed to him in precise succession
His advisor must provide him aid
Else both will fail when hearts are weighed

But one alternative is provided
Before their destinies are decided
Their once loved queen to seek and find
Break the curse and leave the other behind
Win her favor, their hearts entwined

Then with her live as blood and bone
The other with only his sins to atone

This curse was written for, Romance Under Wraps, written by Michele Jones.

This was written for the 50 Word Thursday challenge, this week hosted by Kristian, Tales From the Mind of Kristian.

Give it a try. You might be surprised at what you can compose.
