This weeks phrase: “Why are you smiling?” River Dixon, Beyond the Field
“Julie, I need your help in the garden,” Ted said.
“Okay, dad. I’ll be out after I change.”
An hour later, Ted looked up to check on Julie. He pointed. “What is that?”
“It’s a scarecrow, dad.”
“I can see that. Why is it smiling?”
“Because he loves his job.”
This story was written for the 50 word Thursday challenge, this week hosted by Teresa , The Haunted Wordsmith.

That’s cute. Or it could be creepy, depending on how you look at it. But I’m sticking with cute.
