This weeks phrase: This weeks phrase: “You’d better hurry.” Natasha Tarpley, The Harlem Charade
Today was Ed’s last chance to make the Olympic team. He needed 48.37 seconds or less to make the team, and the rain affected track conditions and time.
His coach yelled, “You’d better hurry.”
He pushed harder, crossing the line at 48.38 seconds. His dreams of being an Olympian—dashed.
Give it a try. You might be surprised at what you can compose.
Leave a comment. I’d love to hear from you.

Those boys sure move across that water fast. The piranhas must have helped. Oh, and I found the Muse. That looks like Lorelei in the stands just under the hurdle.
You got it, Craig. They sure needed to get away from those piranhas. 😀
I like the part where you say find the Muse. I think I spotted her.
Sounds like my kind of luck.
You and me both, Staci.
Poor Ed. How crushing!
But you packed an entire story in there. Well done!
Thanks, Mae. I do love a good challenge. And yes, poor Ed. That would be so hard to get over.
Ouch! So close and yet so far. Well done, Michele.
Thanks, Jacquie. Can you imagine losing your dream because of one-one-hundredth of a second?
Yikes, something like that could haunt a person!
I know what you mean. That would be so disastrous. Thanks for stopping by.
