This weeks phrase: she added, hopefully, “how many things with angels on them are there here?” – Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman.
Several years had passed since Marla visited the estate crypt. She couldn’t believe how much it had changed. Flowers littered the outside path and a several markers had been added.
She hated coming here but had no choice. Today, they would bury her dad, the head of the dynasty, and she was ordered to attend. Marla had left long ago, after her dad remarried. Her stepmother, Dalilah, and she didn’t share the same values, and she had changed her dad’s beliefs.
Marla looked around, noticed the statues had been restored, and several new ones added. Angels? Really? How many angels have been added here? This wasn’t her family. At least it wasn’t before Dalilah.
Was she responsible for this? Would her dad forgive her for not being there when he passed? Questions she would never have answers to. Things were going to change. She had his will. Marla inherited everything.

Give it a try. You might be surprised at what you can compose.
Leave a comment. I’d love to hear from you.
I sense a lot of underlying tension and drama in this one, Michele. Well done!
Thanks, Mae. There is a lot going on.
Go Marla. Get a good attorney.
Thanks, Craig. I don’t believe that will be necessary. Marla has a few tricks up her sleeves.
Lots of tension, could be the opening scene of a smash TV drama. 🙂
Thanks, Kristian. It could be for sure.
