New #ShortStory: Brush it Off @vocal_creators
Brush it Off is my newest fiction piece for the Vocal Media Challenge. This is week seven of eight and I’m on a streak. Story seven of eight has been completed.
If you would like to read any of my past stories, you can find them here.
This story was inspired by my niece, Samantha, who doesn’t understand the draw of curling.
This week’s theme had to include a frozen pond. If you’d like to read my take on the prompt (Brush it Off), you can find it here. Don’t forget to click that [♡] button.

I always laugh that you like curling so much.
Great job at building anticipation. I’ve been on the waiting end. It’s rough. Got my heart.
Thanks, Staci. You should give watching curling a try. There is a lot of skill involved.
I have watched it. I don’t hate it. I just don’t get into it like you do. It’s more enjoyable after a beer or two.
I’ll have you over for a watch party and a beverage or two this year.
Read and hearted. Well done, Michele. Good luck! 🙂
Thanks, Harmony. I love watching curling. I am ready for the Winter Olympics.
That was another good one, Michele. I gave it a heart.
Hubby and I always enjoy watching curling.
Thanks, Mae. I don’t think curling is an easy sport. I can’t walk on two feet on the ice, yet alone push a rock and sweep to get it into place on a target.
Ugh! I hate waiting for news like that. Glad they made it. I tried curling once and it absolutely killed my knees. It was fun, but I couldn’t see myself being able to join a team. Bocci is a bit easier on the joints. I left you a heart.
I enjoy Bocci as well. I never tried curling, except on my Wii. I don’t see myself being good at that sport at all. I have not talent. Thanks Craig. Like Staci said, we should have focused on badminton.
Nice story, Michele. Gotta confess. The only time I’ve ever “watched” curling was in the Beatles’ movie, “Help.” 😀 (Wouldn’t you know???)
Joan, that is so you. Thanks for popping by.
My dad loved curling. This brings back memories. Thanks, Michele <3
Thanks, Jacquie. I enjoy watching. I stayed up and watched the 2:00 am matches. There is something addictive about it.
I love watching curling with my mom – bonus points for the Penn State logo on the curling guy’s beanie! 😍 This was a great little short story.
Thanks, Krista. I love the company.
