GET AWAY
There was so much to do, it overwhelmed her. Bills, farm duties, chores, shopping, the list went on. Bella screamed and threw her hands in the air, she needed to get away.
Bella ran down the path leading to her favorite spot. Nestled far from the farm, a tranquil lake that gave her immense pleasure. The lush green grass, the birds, and the trees calmed her. The beauty was astounding. No cars, trucks, machines, animals grazing, bills. Simply a gorgeous view.
She sat feet from the lake and inhaled deeply. The fragrance was intoxicating. Flowers in bloom, mixed with the musty, earthy smell coming from the lake relaxed her. Bella leaned against a tree and closed her eyes.
The sun was setting when she awoke. It illuminated the lake with a purple hue. The lake looked even more stunning. Bella hated to leave, but she must. She had responsibilities. But she would return.

Stop over and give it a try. You might be surprised at what you can compose.
Leave a comment. I’d love to hear from you.
Both sad and uplifting. That’s a hard balance to pull off.
Thanks, Staci. I like to look at the positive. At least she had a calming spot. Couldn’t we all use one of those?
This is soo nice to read! I felt calm indeed. 😊
Thank you, Ramyani. The picture was beautiful. I can picture myself there reading a good book.
Me too. This is an ideal place for reading a good book and be calm. ☺️
I’d love to slip away to that lake. You made it sound so enchanting!
Thanks, Mae. Sitting there would be wonderful. No phones, no traffic. Just nature.
I think any getaway I could find would look frozen right now.
Perhaps you could do some ice fishing, Craig. And in the warmer weather, take a picnic lunch.
Haven’t been ice fishing in twenty years. Gave my auger to my son.
Good story, we all have that place where we can truly relax.
Thanks Kyt. It’s my hope that we all have that place.
Everyone needs that space for a little peace now and then. Realistic tale.
Thanks, Iain. I agree. We all need that special place.
We all need a place of peace…within or without 😉
Thanks, Sue. I agree.
i wouldn’t mind having a secluded place to get away at times! nice job.
Thanks, Barb. I think we all need one.
You weren’t in the mood for having her gobbled up by the Lake Monster. Good.

No, not this time. I tend to write on the darker side, but sometimes you have to have that HEA, or at least be close to it.
I’m in favour of HEA! Except for the villain, where UEA applies.
I like the way you think. 🙂
Sometimes all you need is a change of scenery.💜
Very true. A change of scenery can be a great thing.
Yes it can ,💜
An enchanting getaway <3
Thanks, Jacquie. This would be the perfect spot.
